Hillary Clinton (White House)

2009-20013 US Secretary of State in the Obama administration. Democratic candidate defeated in the 2016 Presidential election by Republican candidate, Donald Trump.
In 2015-2016 Clinton was investigated by the FBI for maintaining a private server in her home while Secretary of State, containing official government business and creating a national security risk. Subsequent controversial events occurred including:
* the destruction of emails and the server by Clinton’s staff
* a private meeting between the US Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton in June, 2016 and confirmation by Lynch that criminal charges would not follow
* In July, 2016 Clinton was the Democratic nominee for the upcoming presidential election and FBI Director James Comey concluding the investigation without charges
* In Oct, 2016, Comey re-opened the investigation, citing new findings, just before the election. Some believe it is the reason Clinton lost.
