During the 2016 Democratic Presidential Primary, Wikileaks revealed emails from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private server.
On 22 July 2016, WikiLeaks released emails and documents from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) seemingly presenting ways to undercut Bernie Sanders and favoring Clinton.
The Mueller investigation alleged that Wikileaks obtained the DNC emails from Russia, which Assange denied.
The DNC subsequently filed a lawsuit alleging that Wikileaks worked with Russia to hack and publish the emails.
The case was dismissed.
